Our Vision

Africa Liquid Energy is currently progressing its initiative in four African countries that have readily available natural gas resources and large industries that are inland and far away from the sources of gas. Three out of four of these countries are flaring significant amounts of gas in their large oil fields will be captured and put it to a productive use, eliminating a wasted resource polluting the environment and allowing industrial users currently running on diesel and fuel oils to significantly reduce their consumption of these expensive imported fuels and hence drastically reduce their fuel costs.

Dr. Frédéric Briens

Founder

Dr. Frédéric Briens is the founder of Africa Liquid Energy and a petroleum engineer with a 35-year history of professional experience in the oil and gas industry in all parts of the world. Dr. Briens has held the highest positions within oil and gas exploration and production companies as well as in well services companies. He has spent the past ten year in Africa working on exploration, appraisal, development and production of oil, and other projects linked to the oil and gas industry in Gabon, Uganda, Tanzania, and Mozambique. During these years, he has identified the potential of gas to help countries make progress towards their energy independence. Several African oil producers do not refine their own crude and hence import 100% of their diesel needs. They also often flare gas that can be used to substitute substantial amounts of imported diesel. Capturing this gas helps not only to reduce diesel imports but also significantly reduce the emission of green effect gases and help countries comply with international climate conventions. Dr Briens holds an engineering degree from the Ecole Centrale de Paris, an MSc and a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M; University and an MBA from Colorado State University.
